Trip to Cobh part 1 (voyage à Cobh)

       Saturday the light was catching my attention, and was part of the kind of weather that inspire me well for potential photographs. 

          So I decided to leave Cork city to travel a bit, all by myself, and I choose Cobh : a small port near the Atlantic ocean, in the south of Cork. Its not too far away from the city, indeed I took the train in the beginning of the afternoon, for about only 25 minutes. 

         It is was of the best idea that I could have ; here is why : I was already amazed by the train travel, looking at the lagoon around the islands of the south of Cork, under this stunning light. I took some photographs very quickly as ''evidences'', but the quality is that from the context...  

            

Then I arrived in Cobh, and I feel so good it is hardly to describe. A feeling of plenitude, breathing the fresh air under these fascinating clouds and sunlight reflecting on the sea and lakes around. The village is cute, and charming without do too much. Cobh is the place of the last stop of the Titanic, before its trip to the sea. So the village is almost entirely dedicated to this part of history, with a museum and heritage center to visit.

But above all, for me, Cobh is a place to walk by, specially in its uplands, where you can see the cute colored houses playing with the stunning view on water and sky. The Saint-Coleman cathedral is beautiful, and sits on the right place here.

I finished my trip by a tremendous sunset in the Cobh walk in the docks, before taking again a view on the valley for a last time, to the end of this natural event. I have to say I felt so much comforted, all of these was too good.
Finally I came back home, just before hang out in pubs for an umpteenth (énième) time with friends in the city, and party until late.

Samedi 28 la lumière attirait mon attention, et faisait partie de ce genre de temps qui m’inspire bien pour de potentielles photographies.

       J’ai donc décidé de quitter Cork pour voyager un peu, tout seul, et j’ai choisi Cobh (à prononcer Cov) : un petit port près de l’Océan Atlantique, au sud de Cork. Ce n’est pas trop loin de la ville, de fait j’ai pris le train en début d’après-midi, pour à peu près 25 minutes.

      Et ce fut une des meilleures idées possibles ; voilà pourquoi : j’étais déjà époustouflé par le trajet en train, regardant la lagune autour des îles du sud de Cork, sous cette lumière scotchante. J’ai pris quelques photographies très rapidement pour ‘’preuves’’, mais la qualité est celle du contexte…

      Je suis ensuite arrivé à Cobh, et je me suis senti si bien que c’est c’est difficilement descriptible. Un sentiment de plénitude, respirant l’air frais sous ces nuages fascinants et cette lumière du soleil se reflétant sur la mer et les lacs alentours. Le village est mignon, charmant et sans en faire trop. Cobh est la dernière escale du Titanic avant son voyage en mer. Ainsi le village est presque entièrement dédié à cet part de l’Histoire, avec une musée et un ‘’heritage center’’ à visiter.

Mais surtout, pour moi, Cobh est un endroit pour marcher, en particulier dans ses hauteurs, où on peut voir les adorables maisons colorées jouant avec l’incroyable vue sur l’eau et le ciel. La cathédrale de Saint-Coleman est magnifique, et trouve sa bonne place ici.

    J’ai finis mon cheminement par un extraordinaire coucher de soleil sur la promenade de Cobh sur les quais, avant de reprendre une dernière vue sur la vallée, à la fin de cet évènement naturel magnifiant tout autour. Je dois dire que je me suis senti très réconforté, tout ceci était trop bon.

Finalement, je suis rentré à la maison, juste avant de sortir une énième fois avec des amis en ville, et faire la fête jusqu’à tard.
